Gibson Nighthawk

Go' og velholdt Gibson fra 1993. En utraditionel Gibson, der er mere alsidig og ikke så ustyrligt tung som mange af sine Les Paul fætre.
Bygge kvaliteten er høj og kan sammenlignes med niveauet på en klassisk Les Paul, snarere end med de "billige" Gibson'er, der er solgt i de senere år.
Strengelængden er tæt på en typisk Fender, så hvis du bedre ka' li' en stratocasters mensur, end en typisk Gibson mensur, har du endnu en grund til at spille Nighthawk.
Guitaren er i original stand, bortset fra at kondensatoren på tonekontrollen er udskiftet til en original Orange Drop.

Lydmæssigt er den alsidig på grund af de fem pickupkombinationer. Personligt kan jeg specielt godt li' den typiske Gibson minihumbucker i halsposition. Alt i alt en spændende guitar som man ikke ser så mange af. De reissue udgaver der kom i nogle år fra 2009, er ikke alle rigtige Nighthawks. Nogle af dem har kun samme kropsfacon som de originale.

The Gibson Nighthawk was a family of electric guitars manufactured by Gibson. Introduced in 1993, the Nighthawk represented a radical change from traditional Gibson designs. While its maple-capped mahogany body and set neck were reminiscent of the classic Gibson Les Paul, the Nighthawk incorporated a number of characteristics more commonly associated with Fender guitars. But the Nighthawk was not a commercial success; production of all models was discontinued in 1998 after only five years.
In July 2009, Gibson revived the Nighthawk with the Nighthawk 2009 limited edition. Current production models include the Nighthawk Studio, the 20th Anniversary Nighthawk Standard, and the 2013 Nancy Wilson Nighthawk Standard. Some of these newer models are faithful to the design of the original Nighthawk, but others are only cosmetically similar.
